The
Lyman-Eyer Gallery presents
Keith Breitfeller's abstractions! Color, light, texture and spirituality are the focus of my work. The methodology I follow is the use of simple subject matter, a minimalist method of painting, repetitive brush strokes and composition that provides a slow and continuous evolution of my work. Usually my paintings start with an underlying grid building the subject matter onto this and using it as a foundation to guide the painting strokes. The painting process is carried out from dark to light and from low intensity to high intensity of color. The application of paint in a series of short brush strokes laying, down one

layer of pigment and texture, coming back and then, to repeat the process. This gives the paintings their atmospheric quality. I usually work in series, taking one theme and exploring its potential, allowing it to grow from painting to painting. This lends a continuity to the work. Painting for me is a meditative activity, which I hope translates to the viewer. Please vist
